Rapper Nicki Minaj’s father killed in hit-and-run – popular US rapper Nicki Minaj born Onika Tanya Maraj and her family is in the news this week after her father was killed in a hit-and-run accident according to the Nassau County Police Department.
The Nassau County Police Department in a statement said; Nicki Minaj’s father, Robert Maraj, 64, was walking in Mineola, Long Island, on Friday at 6:15 p.m. when he was “was struck by a northbound, undescribed, vehicle that fled the scene of the accident.”

Upon being taken to the hospital in critical condition, Maraj died Saturday, the police statement further said that the homicide squad is investigating. Also, the Police are asking any witnesses to the fatal crash to come forward or to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
Even though Nicki’s representative has confirmed her father’s death, as of the time of this report, Nicki Minaj has not yet made public comments about her father’s demise.
Nicki Minaj, was born Onika Tanya Maraj in Trinidad but was raised in the New York City borough of Queens.
